Employee Awareness
Make sure our employees are aware of the importance of sustainability and our effort. Encourage them to find new ways to improve and increase sustainability efforts.
That obsession—intertwined with deeply intellectual curiosity—compelled us to think bigger in every facet of what we were doing. We started Public House Brewing Company with only what we needed to make the best craft beer in Missouri — no more, no less.
Today we stand at the threshold of a new brewing frontier. We invite you to take the journey with us.
We fine-tune everything we do for maximum sustainability.

A Little Recap of what we’ve done…
Longtime friends Josh Stacy and Josh Goodridge start brewing (and drinking) beer in Stacy’s garage. It’s really, really good. They concoct plans to take their hobby to the next level.
After selling their wives on the idea of owning and operating a brewery, Stacy and Goodridge open Public House Brewing Company to share their beer with their hometown of Rolla, MO. We’re the town’s first brewpub, and people from all walks of life started stopping in to try Public House beer.
We took home our first beer competition award from a national competition. A bronze medal at the Great American Beer Competition for our Bird and Baby Mild. This gave us a sense of validation and sent us back to the brewery more determined than ever.
The second competition that we entered and another win! This time at the World Beer Cup for our Revelation Stout. This beer would later become our most decorated in the PHBC lineup. Pushing us even harder.
We maxed out the production capacity of our little pub brewhouse. Now it was time to make a decision, stay…
We open our second location—this one next door to our friends and new business partners, St. James Winery. Our St. James Taproom gave us a chance to reach a much larger audience to the Public House Experience.
With distribution partners selected, Public House starts shipping beer across the great state of Missouri. Bottles and draft start popping up in stores and restaurants around the state. Surreal to see your product on a store shelf!
Getting back to our hospitality roots, The Gardens, at the St James Campus opens for its first full season. We now have a .75 acre park, where customers from all over the country can come and relax in our backyard! Family and pet friendly this instantly becomes a destination.
In an effort to get our product to our customers and follow our values of sustainability, PHBC decides to move all packaged beer from bottles to cans. This reduced energy and materials consumption, and got our beer out to the lakes, rivers, trails and campgrounds!
An opportunity presented itself to procure the remaining spaces of the original 600 Rolla Street Building – allowing us to move our production home and create a new tasting room.
As we approach our 15th year of operations so much has changed, but one thing that hasn’t is our desire to bring people together, create an atmosphere and supply some joy! We look forward to many more years, many more beers, and many more cheers!
