10th Ale-Iversary Celebrations

Ten years.

A couple of weeks ago, we quietly celebrated our official tenth anniversary at the Rolla Brewpub. Celebrating our anniversary, or Ale-Iversary, as we have come to call it, with you is a privilege and an honor.  Certainly, each celebration has been unique, but always big and lively-our day to kick up our heels with you!

Celebrating together in this environment is a challenge. We broke out our thinking caps (they work best with a pint in hand) and put together a set of specials that will give you the opportunity to celebrate with us in the ways you feel safe.

All specials will run Friday, January 22, and Saturday, January 23, and will be available at the Rolla Brewpub and the St. James Taproom.
Throwback Pricing! When we opened the Pub 10 years ago, our beers were $4-$5 a pint. Friday and Saturday, many select beers will once again be priced at $4-$5 a pint.
Case Beer Discount! 20% off cases of beer. No restrictions. Purchase a case, receive a 20% discount. You can even order ahead and pick up curbside if you’d like.
This Creature Beer Barley Wine Release! The Barley Wine release and vertical tasting is a tradition we just could not pass over.  2021 This Creature Beer will be on draft at both locations, and there will be vertical tasting package options available for you to pick up and experience at home. Everybody Gose Crazy Week!

Everybody Gose Crazy Week starts Mon., July 27, and runs through Sat., Aug. 1!

You may be asking, “But why?”

No, it is not in celebration of a holiday or to honor anything in particular. It’s just because we really freakin’ love Goses, they’re perfect to enjoy during the heat of summer and… things might have gotten a little out of hand in the research and development (R&D) brewing.

Public House Co-founder, Josh Stacy, explained, “We are working through some R&D. With the success of House Party last year, and the very positive response to the small lot of Raspberry Gose that we released earlier this summer, we wanted to continue experimenting with other fruit combinations with the Gose base.”

When asked about a favorite among the fruited Goses that are about to be released, we were told The Brew Crew doesn’t have one. According to Stacy, they have not had the chance to taste them yet! Stacy moved on to express, “We just hope to see people come out and try these beers. We appreciate and learn from the feedback. Happy Drinking!”

Well said, sir. We can’t be more excited to try these beers too! Check out the schedule below and please note the day and location of each release. Cheers!

  • Monday – Blueberry – Rolla Brewpub – 3 pm
  • Tuesday – Black Current – St. James Taproom – 11 am
  • Wednesday – Lychee & Pink Guava – Rolla Brewpub – 3 pm
  • Thursday – Tangerine & Pineapple – St James Taproom – 11 am
  • Friday – Papaya and Lime – Rolla Brewpub – 3 pm
  • Saturday – Raspberry Gose – Both Locations – 11 am

Public House Branching Out Into Cans

We’re super stoked about our move from bottles to cans!

On Friday, June 21, 2019, our Brew Crew moved the bottling line out of our St. James brewhouse to make room for the new canning line. Yes, that means we are doing away with bottles. This is a sustainable choice, not to mention a safer one. If you drop a can of beer, it won’t shatter into a million sharp, jagged pieces. Worse case, you’ll have some spilled beer – which is sad but not as hazardous.

The plan is to kick-off the change with our year-round beers going into cans first and debuting new labels. Each beer has received a facelift with art created by Public House friend and local artist Travis Watkins. The art will be revealed at our Can Release Party on Thursday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. at our original location – the Rolla Brewpub.

A military veteran and Rolla area native, Travis creates all kinds of art in all kinds of mediums. We were such a fan of his canvas works, displayed and sold in our taprooms, that we asked him to re-imagine our beer labels. He happily accepted the task and we couldn’t be happier with the end results.

Our hope is you, our customers, will like the change from glass to can too. You’ll finally be able to take our beer on the river or to other outdoor adventures where glass is prohibited in Missouri.

“Customer demand for Public House beer in cans became almost deafening in the last couple of years so we took the plunge!  We’re proud to finally offer our beer in the most convenient, environmentally friendly package there is,” stated Josh Goodridge, co-founder of Public House Brewing Company.

New package!  New labels!  New experience!
