Brewer's Notes:

Overall Impression: House Party 2 is a sour and fruity wheat ale with a restrained salt character and low bitterness. It is very refreshing, with bright tropical and citrus fruit flavors.

Aroma: Highly fruity aroma. Notes of passion fruit, papaya, pear, lemon and other citrus fruits. Aromas of sour fermentation, slightly sharp. Light bready, doughy, yeasty character. The acidity gives a bright, lively impression.

Appearance: Unfiltered, with a moderate haze. White foam head. Effervescent. Golden color with a pinkish hue.

Flavor: Moderate sourness. Moderate bready/doughy malt flavor. Extreme fruity character of passion fruit, papaya, pear, lemon, and other citrus fruits. Light salt character on the finish. Low bitterness. Hop flavor is fruit and citrus forward. Dry, fully-attenuated finish, with acidity, not hops, balancing the malt. Acidity can be more noticeable in the finish, and enhance the refreshing quality of the beer.

Mouthfeel: Medium body. Salt may give a slightly tingly, mouthwatering quality. The yeast and wheat give it a little body, but not a heavy feel.

IBU: 15
O.G.: 1.040
F.G.: 1.004
SRM: 5.0

Malt: Pilsen, Wheat, Munich II, Acidulated, Carapils
Hops: Mandarina Bavaria, Cascade, Lemondrop

🍺 Head Brewer Matt Burkhardt has a passion for brewing beers that demand technical excellence, and Marzen Lager, as a style, is right at the top of his list. Matt takes his malt seriously, and Bierleichen is brewed the traditional way with the best German malts we could get our hands on. The proof is in the puddin' - er - the beer, rather. Bierleichen! is malty, bready, smooth, and with just the right amount of toasty sweetness, it's all the right amount of delicious.

As for the name, Bierleichen translates to beer corpse in German. Also known as beer zombies or sleeping drunks, Bierleichen is affectionately used at Oktoberfest celebrations to describe someone who as consumed so much beer that they pass out at the table, or in the lawn, or on their buddy.

Beer, Pizza & a Movie in The Gardens is TODAY with the 80s classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off on the big screen! 🍺🍕🎬

👨‍🍳"Here's where Cameron goes berserk" - Chef's Hot Rod Pizza! The Hot Rod begins with house-made dough topped with Enchilada sauce, mozzarella cheese, Jamaican Jerk chicken, red onions, red bell peppers. Fired in the brick oven, then drizzled with Sriracha sauce, this pizza is absolute fire! 🔥

The movie begins in The Gardens at dusk. The kitchen will be open late, and the libations (beer, cider, wine slushies!) flow though the end of the movie.

Oktoberfest 2021 Cancellation Announcement:

It is with great regret that we write to announce the cancellation of the 2021 Oktoberfest Celebration at Public House Brewing Company, Rolla.

Oktoberfest is our longest-running event, and a favorite of staff and patrons alike. The decision to cancel was made after careful consideration of our current environment. With the recent surge in COVID-19 positivity rates across out state, we cannot risk the exposure to our staff, patrons and fellow brewery and winery vendors.

We love hosting Oktoberfest and sharing an afternoon with friends from across the state as we sample some of the best beer and wine Missouri has to offer. We will miss hosting, but look forward to planning for a bigger, better, safer Oktoberfest in 2022!

Not all is lost. For those of you looking to kick off the fall season in style, our O'Fest Marzen Lager, Bierleichen!, is available in both PHBC taprooms and retail and restaurant locations across Missouri.

We invite you to raise a pint with us in honor of past and future Public House Oktoberfest events!

Can't Beat It Belgian Saison will be tapped at the Rolla Brewpub tonight (Tuesday) at 5:30 pm. About this limited release beer, Head Brewer Matt Burkhardt tells us, "Aaron wanted to create a saison that was a little darker in color than most saisons, and that showcased the unique flavor of spelt malt. This ancient variety of Bavarian wheat gives the beer a slightly sweet, nutty, and spicy flavor. This distinctive malt pairs well with the earthy, peppery, and spicy character of the classic Belgian saison yeast".

Stop in and give this unique beer a try! See you at the Pub! 🍻
