#Latergram to this amazing day in August at the Berryman Adventure Race!

Public House teamed up with #RollaMultisportClub and others to host the 2020 event at Riverview Ranch in Bourbon, MO.
.
Racers from all across the Midwest gathered to bike, canoe, orienteer, hike and run through forests, waterways, trails and rural roads. The Berryman Adventure Race has been held in Mid-Missouri since 2001, and competitors can choose either a 6 or 18 hour course. Navigating the course by map and compass only, this adventure race is no doubt a test of the human condition.

Bierleichen! Beer Brats from our Home Kitchen! 🧟🍺🌭

We really enjoy cooking with Public House beer, and Bierleichen! is no exception. The malty, full flavor of this Marzen Lager adds so much to some of our favorite dishes.
.
Bierleichen! Beer Brat Recipe 👨‍🍳

⚫Brats: We used Hermann Wurst Haus Best of Show
⚫Beer: We used 2 cans of Bierleichen!
⚫Onion: We used 1/2 a large yellow onion, quartered
⚫Garlic: We used 2 cloves, roughly chopped

Simmer all of the ingredients together for 30-45 minutes. You want to allow plenty of time for the flavors to marry with the brats. They'll plump up, but you want to avoid splitting the skins.
Remove the brats from the beer broth and place on a grill that's been pre-heated to a medium heat-you might even find you prefer to place them just off the heat source. Now, remove the onion and garlic from the beer broth, place on a piece of foil, and add them to the grill. Grill the brats slow and low until they are fully plump and golden, turning about every 10 minutes. Remove the brats and onion/garlic mixture from the grill. Place it on your bun of choice, top with the onion/garlic mixture and mustard.

Let's talk for a minute about these carnitas, as they are the inspiration for this at-home pairing, after all. Slow-cooked pork shoulder is seasoned with onion, garlic, spices and herbs until tender, then crisped and garnished with fresh orange or lime and cilantro. Carnitas are perfect for tacos, burritos, tostados, quesadillas, and of course just eating by the fork full.
