Summer Beer
Samuel Clementine Kölsch
ABV: 5.0% | OG: 1.044 | IBUs: 22 | SRM: 3.5
Overall Impression: A brilliantly clear, pale beer with a refreshing fruit flavor and aroma of clementine, moderate bitterness, and a well-attenuated but soft finish.
Flavor: A fresh clementine fruit flavor supporting the balance between malt and hops, with a clean, well-attenuated finish. The low grainy maltiness may have some notes of bread or honey. The fruitiness can have an almost perceptible sweetness. Medium-low bitterness. Moderately citrus hop flavor. Soft, rounded palate. The finish is soft, dry, and slightly crisp.
Aroma: Low grainy-sweet malt aroma. A fresh clementine fruit aroma comes from the added fruit. Also, subtle hints of apple and pear may be noticed as well. Low tangerine and citrus hop aroma. The aromatics are fairly clean, fresh, and pleasant.
A traditional top-fermented, lagered beer from Cologne, Germany (Köln). Served in Köln in a tall, narrow 20cl glass called a Stange.
