UPDATE: 4/03/2020
Public House Community,
During these unprecedented times, we, like so many others have suffered from significant downturn in business. This has forced us to stretch ourselves very thin between our locations. In an effort to stay concentrated on the community and prepare ourselves to come out on the other side of this stronger than ever, we have made a difficult decision. As of close of business today, Thursday, April 2nd we will temporarily close the Public House St James Taproom for curb side pickup and carryout service.
Our production team will still be hard at work producing your favorite Public House brews to ship to our wholesale and retail partners across the state. The Rolla brewpub will remain open!!! We will be extending our model to include delivery service starting tomorrow, Friday, April 3rd. We are also working on extending our curbside and delivery service to seven days a week.
For those of you that would still like to pick-up beer closer to St. James we will be offering curbside pickup of Public House beer at the St James Winery Tasting Room.
We will keep you informed as the situation evolves. For real-time updates per location, you can follow the local Taproom social media pages for updates.
Stay safe and take care,
Public House Brewing Company

Best Ever & Flynn’s Irish Red
/in Uncategorized/by Public House Brewing Co.Some of you around the Rolla, MO area may have noticed Public House Best Ever Irish Red in stores. If you’re from Rolla – then you get it. If you’re not, here’s the story.
Each year, Rolla, MO is home to a spectacular St. Pat’s bash. Students and alumni from Missouri University of Science & Technology paint Pine Street (the main street running through downtown Rolla) green and a parade ensues, amongst many forms of revelry. With this local tradition happening in our hometown, it was befitting of us to create a beer perfect for the occasion.
“It’s been a long time coming, but we’re so excited to release this beautiful, commemorative beer in alignment with one of our city’s greatest celebrations,” explained Josh Stacy, Public House Co-founder.
Best Ever Irish Red is our seasonal beer, Flynn’s Irish Red, just with a commemorative label for those in the Rolla area to enjoy. The term “Best Ever” stands for The Best Ever St. Patrick’s Day because each year St. Pat’s in Rolla, MO just keeps getting better and better.
The art includes a deck of cards and features Saint Patrick holding a shillelagh (a walking stick used to ward off snakes) in one hand and a serpent in the other. This represents the story of Saint Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland, which students at Missouri S&T have incorporated into their annual festivities. Learn more about Missouri S&T St. Pat’s traditions here.
So, when you crack open a Best Ever Irish Red, you’ll be enjoying an extremely sessionable beer that lends itself well to this holiday. The malt-forward, toasty character of this ale will inspire you to revel in St. Patrick’s Day making every sip, the… Best Ever. Cheers!

Public House Branching Out Into Cans
/in Beer, Events/by Public House Brewing Co.We’re super stoked about our move from bottles to cans!
On Friday, June 21, 2019, our Brew Crew moved the bottling line out of our St. James brewhouse to make room for the new canning line. Yes, that means we are doing away with bottles. This is a sustainable choice, not to mention a safer one. If you drop a can of beer, it won’t shatter into a million sharp, jagged pieces. Worse case, you’ll have some spilled beer – which is sad but not as hazardous.
The plan is to kick-off the change with our year-round beers going into cans first and debuting new labels. Each beer has received a facelift with art created by Public House friend and local artist Travis Watkins. The art will be revealed at our Can Release Party on Thursday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. at our original location – the Rolla Brewpub.
A military veteran and Rolla area native, Travis creates all kinds of art in all kinds of mediums. We were such a fan of his canvas works, displayed and sold in our taprooms, that we asked him to re-imagine our beer labels. He happily accepted the task and we couldn’t be happier with the end results.
Our hope is you, our customers, will like the change from glass to can too. You’ll finally be able to take our beer on the river or to other outdoor adventures where glass is prohibited in Missouri.
“Customer demand for Public House beer in cans became almost deafening in the last couple of years so we took the plunge! We’re proud to finally offer our beer in the most convenient, environmentally friendly package there is,” stated Josh Goodridge, co-founder of Public House Brewing Company.
New package! New labels! New experience!
